A Special Celebration....

A family birthday dinner at Wish Restaurant in South Beach with Sadie who flew in for the occasion. Our meals were over the top, American with an Asian twist, and yes, that is a Passiontini, cuz she is now legal.

More scenes from the Mall....

I fell in love with Paul's Bakery, with the most incredible croissants and pastries. Also found this cute cart of evil eyes....better wear a few in the New Years (check out Sydney Evan's....)

Happy 21st Birthday Baby Duck!!!

Yes that would be Child #1 who turns 21 today....and we cannot believe it. She has hit the beach with her father and I need to catch up to them...more later.

Congratulations Katy and Ryan...

Sending lots of love from the Sunshine State to Cincy....can't wait to see wedding pics from tonight's ceremony! xc

Another City, Another Mall....

Vowing not to set foot in a mall until after vacation, here we were at Aventura Mall in Florida...just couldn't resist. My staff is reporting crowds out shopping at Galleria in Dallas after Christmas with their holiday money, and I see the same here.

Holiday Lights in Dallas....

Christmas Eve Closing....Officer Leo & Staff

December 26....

Wed
Dec 26
Partly Cloudy
78°/64° 10%

Yes, that will be the weather where we will be on Wednesday. Just a few hours left at the Mall, one more holiday party with the kids (who cannot wait to see us), and then we leave town for a warmer climate. The countdown has begun....

Our Little French Cook....

Oh how wonderful it was to come home from work on Sunday and find our baby duck cooking dinner, with a recipe learned from her French family: Poulet au Citron (or as we say here in Dallas, Lemon Chicken). Served over rice, it was yum yum yum. Great joy Alysa!

Last Minute Shopper....

And naturally in fashion in Ylang 23 and Lululemon.

Shipping Update...

Our Shipping Manager has finally received the correct information for Christmas delivery, and the options we are using are UPS Express Critical or Fed-ex Same Day Service. Place your order by Sunday night, and we should have it to your door by 6pm on Monday for a hefty charge (but hey, as a Frenchman I know has always said, "When you love you don't count".) Place your order by Monday night and Fed-ex can deliver it to your door on Christmas Day, most likely by early evening. Just an option I wanted to post, because our phones have been ringing off the walls with last minute shoppers...yikes! Let us know if you need help.

The Highlight of My Day....

Giving hugs to Alysa and Sadie on their way home from the airport.

My Baby Duck is in the Air....

Yes, that would be baby duck #1, Alysa, who has finished her fall semester in France, and we cannot wait to see her. Only one problem, we will be at the store open to close. And yes, she was just a bit out of whack when I delivered the news that no parent would be picking her up after 4 months abroad. No worries, Sadie has airport duty and all is well. We had the Fox 4 film crew in the store yesterday and all was chaos, but fun. And isn't that what holiday should be about? Gotta run....and get some shopping done later too. That new Lululemon store at Galleria (the coolest yoga clothing ever) is amazing, and I might just pick something up for my baby duck. Later....

It's the Most Wondrous Time of the Year.....

It is happening all around Dallas and everywhere else. Cute holiday parties with welcoming hosts and inviting food and naturally, lots of friends spreading holiday cheer. We have been working soooo hard, but I could not miss this girl's party which is a highlight of the season for me.

High Frappe.....

My friend just emailed me that she is into "high frappe" over getting her daughter's December wedding finished. And what, I asked, is "high frappe"? Her answer: "High Frappe means in constant swirling trying to get all last minute things done!"

Yes, we all feel as though we are in a blender these days. A real Starbucks moment.

My kids are counting the days til vacation, and so am I.

Cathy Waterman Trunk Show

Cathy swooped in and out of town for lunch and to drop off some trunk show things and the feeding frenzy has started at our store. The new muses with princess cut stones are a hit, as are her stretch bracelets and over-the-top one of a kinds, including Oscar pieces. Check out the trunk show at ylang23.com but we warn you, you will be soooooo tempted.

An Artful Lunch....

What a beautiful Texas day for a luncheon for Cathy Waterman at the Museum. The centerpieces held her jewelry and the conversation was all about kids, friendships and yes, that amazing jewelry too.

Leapin' Lizards: A Galleria Christmas....

Galleria knows how to do holiday, with flaming skates on our leaping Santa and triple loops from Olympic and World Champion ice skater Victor Petrenko, who is quite the entertainer.

Art for The Bridge Event.....

An amazing evening last night to benefit The Bridge Breast Network, conceived and chaired by my friend Priscilla Beshears. It was black tie, bidding on the art was ferocious, and the surprise guest was Lady Bunny, who posed for pictures. Bravo Priscilla!

A Galleria Chanukah

It was a spirited and joyous celebration
of the first night of Chanukah at Galleria with Rabbi Mendel Dubrawsky of Chabad of Dallas lighting the first candle, and the young singers of Akiba Academy singing Chanukah song favorites.
