Ron & David from Ten Thousand Things are on the Way...

I know you are waiting for 23rd Anniversary pictures, but honestly, we are in a state of High Frappe (if you don't know what that means, call me or Starbucks), as David Rees and Ron Anderson are arriving Thursday with their new creations....

Joanne & Joyce: Two Wild and Crazy Oncologists...

We attended Art for The Bridge to benefit the Bridge Breast Network and were delighted to see our fave oncologists out of their work clothes and into black tie gowns (almost did NOT recognize them). Dr. Joanne Blum and Dr. Joyce O'Shaughnessy are on the cutting edge of breast cancer treatment at Baylor University Hospital in Dallas, but on this night they were charming everyone with their wit and smiles, and oh, yes, Joyce's boa, which was on the cutting edge of fashion. You go girls!!!

Cathy Waterman....A Divine Visit...

Cathy's Studio was all abuzz with jewelry flying around for the Emmys...and the phone was ringing off the hook. Despite the commotion, Charles and I picked some divine pieces and got a peek at what was coming for holiday (Wow!!!)...Later, we enjoyed a relaxing dinner with Cathy and Eddie, who still look like the kids they were when they met....Thanks for all!!!!

A Break to California to See Cathy Waterman

Just had to do a quickie trip to the Waterman Studio where we caught the PERFECT day in Santa Monica. Flying into Bob Hope Airport in Burbank was a first, and caught us in a wonderful time warp (remember when you had to walk off plane ramps???) It is a wonderful airport, very 50's and we got to LA in a heartbeat. The Santa Monica Pier beckoned, but so did buying at the Waterman Studio.

Trunk Show Flowers

We have had so many requests on who does our store flowers, and this arrangement for Irene's trunk show was over the top. I just happened to be in early to catch Rick, our floral guru from Dr. Delphinium and had to give him a big hug. Wow. Thanks for going all out!

Irene Neuwirth Does Dallas...

In a social whirlwind shocking even to a certain designer flying in from doing a New York runway show (that would be Irene), she was game for a wild couple of days. First, attending the Crystal Charity luncheon with friend Lynne and myself, where we visited with Pamela Fiori (editor) and Jim Taylor (publisher) of Town & Country...then attending the pre-event for Art for the Bridge with Woju (check out the martinis in hand), Charles & me and featuring the eye-popping and ear-splitting Le Freak Band. Oh! and Yes!
A most fab Trunk Show in between. Everyone was particularly stunned by Irene's moonstones and boulder opals. I would imagine that Irene and Woju passed out on the plane going back to California, and got an eyeful of Dallas fashion and fun....What can I say? Thank you for such an amazing show, and for being such fun guests.

Oscar de la Renta Does Dallas......

The Crystal Charity luncheon is a highlight of fall, and it is great to reconnect with friends who have been traveling over the summer.. Celebrating a 30 year partnership with Neiman Marcus Downtown, which was an amazing host, this year's featured designer was Oscar de la Renta who presented his Resort 2009 Runway Show. Prior to the show, Dallas Ten Best Dressed (also selected for their charitable works in the Dallas Community) hit the runway in Oscar, of course. Shown: my friend Charlotte, a 10 Best Dressed for the 2nd year, in a stunning Oscar pants ensemble, and at the underwriting event the night before with her gorgeous mom Gene and the designer himself.

Next Up: Crystal Charity Function....

It is always a treat to go to the Nasher Sculpture Center, and this was a Patron Party for the upcoming Crystal Charity luncheon. Best was being with friends Lynne, Tracy, Priscilla (not shown) & Dee....and yes, that is Alysa happily tucked in the middle, in the "color du jour": noir.
