More on Vegas and Babies on the Way!

It was great to reconnect with Temple St. Clair and Yasuko Azuma & Richard Ito, and a lot of fun to imagine the offspring of Heather Bracher Severs, Jewelry and Accessories Editor of Town & Country (dripping in Irene Neuwirth), and designer Emily Armenta, both of whom were in a full expectant blush and bloom. We expect you to bring your babies next year, ladies!!

Ylang 23 Hits the Jewelry Shows in Vegas

We were so happy to meet up with old friends Luna & Paolo Scamuzzi (Lucifer vir Honestus) and the collection was so brilliant, I am sure we overbought. The icing on the cake was meeting their newest creation Brando, absolutely adorable!!! I also got a great shot of Gurhan with his new sets of bangles (also heavy on our shopping list!). In all, a great trip.

Coral is Hot for Summer: Ten Thousand Things, Annette Ferdinandsen and Me & Ro

A Great Memorial Day in Dallas......

There is so much to find in Dallas, and this day was for checking out antique malls & outdoor garden stuff on Industrial Boulevard (a real treasure trove). Just loved Big Mango Trading Company, and the antique mall we popped in to had this amazing original Big Boy which took me back to my childhood visits to Dallas and those delicious Big Boy burgers. Yum. Just wish I had a place for this relic, but unfortunately, his skin wouldn't survive in my garden.

My New Trainer, Chad

Every year Charles & I make the same resolution, but this Spring we did it. Chad is now in charge of us and we are dying. See that orange on the right? I used to enjoy it on a daily basis. But nooooooooooooooooo. Chad says the clementine on the left is just the right size for a morning boost or afternoon snack. Everything is sized down, and hopefully, that will include me. And that cute beach fellow? A present for Chad and a wish that he were doing my curls instead of me.

Our Fashionable Friend Cynthia O'Connor Visits....

Enjoyed a leisurely lunch at Oceannaire with Cynthia O'Connor of the famed NY Showroom and got all caught up. Shoes were very stylish on her, but my feet are very happy rotating from platforms to flipflops.

Let's Hear it for Central Market!

I cannot come up with enough recipes to take advantage of the depth of tomatoes at Central Market, but with our new "clean eating" and gym schedule, I am working on it. These were just too gorgeous to pass up for a shot to share. Just love Central Market, but it's best to not shop when you're hungry or you will get in to trouble, trouble.

A Recent Celebration of Ylang | 23 Staff

Bar-b-que and husbands too. (And for a change, out of their black frocks). Charles & I (with a brief appearance by Jake) enjoyed having them over for a steak and wine feast, cooked by yours truly, and of course, all left with party favors. Let's hear it for our Staff (and their guys!)~

Alysa Teichman Shocks Mom

Shock and Awe...I had just hung up with Baby Duck Alysa T. in Evanston, when who should walk in? Alysa T who was definitely NOT in Evanston! I was caught speechless (for once). What a wonderful weekend with her and Jake. She shopped for groceries, and cooked the most killer Mother's Day brunch: 2 oven fritattas, one with goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes, and one with basil and smoked salmon; grilled veggies and asparagus, and her special salad with nuts and stuff. Then on the next day to work out and have manis | pedis. Then some shopping (natch) and lots of down time. It was a glorious weekend! Jake claims the books he gave me were grabbed randomly from the Barnes & Noble Mother's Day table, but I don't buy it. They were spot on: The Incredible Truth About Mothers & Now Is the Time. Both great reads, especially the latter subtitled: 170 Ways to Seize the Moment. Just love it. And just love them. Thank you kids and thank you Charles for orchestrating it! And poof! She is back in Evanston, awaiting graduation.

We just LOVE celebrating birthdays, and this time it was Celina's. Even those who are off stop by for the party. And the blonde on the right? My friend Lynne who is a cupcake queen and swooped on in like a homing pidgeon. Happy birthday, Celina!!!

Go Red for Women Luncheon with Charla Krupp

It was a ton of fun being a guest of my friend Charla Krupp, keynote speaker for the Go Red for Women Luncheon to promote heart health. I learned a lot: women's symptoms for heart attacks are quite different from men's. They include fatigue, indigestion | nausea, and possible jaw tightness, all of which can be dismissed as due to stress. If you experience these, get a physical, and pass it on please. That gorgeous lady on the right? Priscilla had us all in tears as she recounted that, despite being a cheerleader & volleyball player in high school, years later, she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure which a simple EKG administered 11 years prior could have uncovered. Further, after her heart stopped, she received a transplant and is now around to see her daughter Delisha grow up. Want to know more? Visit the Go Red for Women website. And don't forget what my anti-aging activist friend Charla Krupp advises in her best seller, "How Not to Look Old": pink lipstick, no smoking, white teeth.....yes "getting older sucks, Girlfriend, but you can do something about it".
