Meet "Chip" by Catherine Michiels....
He was a little shy at last night's reception, but made some great friends and was adopted by several. Chip, a collaboration between designer Catherine Michiels and Ylang 23, is a chipmunk who knows how to store food. Sales benefit the Food 4 Kids Backpack program, which provides nutritional snacks to kids identified by school staff as chronically hungry. $50 of each sale goes to the Food 4 Kids program at the North Texas Food Bank. Catherine, Mille mercis pour votre brillante inspiration, et pour votre coeur d'or! Les enfants de Dallas vous remercient! XOX joanne
A Whirlwind in New York....

What to do when your child is not in school for Parent's weekend, but interning in New York?
Go where the girl is...and we had a blast. Yes, we are foodies. Yes, we ate our way through the 48 hours. And while Alysa was at work, I caught some Papparazzi waiting for former Mayor Guiliani, and the tourists at Rockefeller Plaza. That pile of chocolate? Why, it's what we resisted on the way out of Red Eye Grill. And Amber? Quite likely, the best sushi restaurant on the West Side. And those girls with the sparkly eyes? My own baby duck and Cathy Waterman's Claire, who is following her own dream. Knockout two days, and I am e.x.h.a.u.s.t.e.d. Miss you already, and thanks for a great, great visit.

Delight in Joseph Havel...

Taking a break from the mundane, Charles and I spent the morning with Joan Davidow, Director of the Dallas Contemporary. The current exhibit, Sheets to the Wind, by artist Joseph Havel was amazing, and my camera was drawn to all of it. The Dallas Contemporary is currently raising money to move to their new space, and if you're interested in helping, please visit their website.
