September 11: Jury Duty

The notice arrived, and while I normally dread the summons and think of reasons I can't serve, the particular date of September 11 left no doubt that I would show up in the spirit of American patriotism. I spent most of the day at the courthouse, but alas, at one point those of us remaining in the jury pool were dismissed, since we were told that they had enough jurors for the courts. My service to Country (and County) will have to wait for another day.
