More Glorious New York

NYC Brunch at Sarabeth's Kitchen

If you've never been to Sarabeth's on upper Madison, you haven't lived. Amazing brunch, jams, omelettes, fluffy pancakes, oh my! And stop next door to grab flowers for a friend.

Shown: Alysa & her friend Abby who is interning for the folks who make the marvelous GloMinerals, as good for your face as they are for your rosy cheeks.

Enjoying the Best of New York

There is nothing like Saturday in New York, with the most glorious weather we had ever seen. The park, Museum Mile, all is a visual explosion of color and life. And we had a blast!

IPhone Party...only in New York!!!

It is midnight and on the way back from the theatre when all the lines were gone from the Mother Ship Apple store on 5th Avenue, I called my friend back in Texas to see if she had gotten her phone, and since she didn't have time, I decided to go at midnight and get her a couple. What an amazing party going on, and I shot straight to the pay counter (here's a pic of the friendly guy who helped me). As for me, sorry Apple, but I'm sticking to my Blackberry pearl. It's my life.

Off to the Theatre...

What a glorious evening with friends at the musical Spring Awakening, which swept the Tony awards. The original cast was astounding, but caution: this rock musical, which would appeal to the younger set, is NOT for younger teens and kids since it is so graphic. For the rest of you, better score tickets and see it!

Sweets and Treats

No trip is complete without food and the spotting of a bride. Ravioli is from Serafina (yum), sweets are from Nespresso on Madison (which has killer espresso and the machines to make it at home; one is on its way to the Teichman household) and the bride was a lovely vision on Park Avenue.

6:30 pm outside the Apple Store in NYC.....

These guys waited for 2 days to be the first to get their IPhones in NY and here is their prize: the new IPhone.

I LOVE New York!!!~

What a lovely day...and the weather (unlike Dallas) was divine. We strolled down to the meatpacking district and dropped in to see our friends at Ten Thousand Things, and their friend Susan Sarandon stopped by. A brilliant day!

On the way to New York...

Shared the surprise with our daughter when we were sure our plane was taking off (since flights had been cancelled all morning)...can't wait to see her!

Summertime with Friends....

I just loved seeing my out of town friend and her friend and the three of us headed over to the new Trader Vics in Dallas. Great to know that some things never change like the "Stinger" which my friend ordered with the most perfect, perfect gardenia which was somehow left at the restaurant. Oh, well, that just means a return visit, yes?

Happy 9th Birthday Insite!

Happy Birthday Insite (our web gurus)! And oh, what a party...Unfortunately we were losers at roulette, and did not win one of the prizes, including a coveted Iphone, but it was a great party. Congrats to Adrienne and her talented crew...

Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day was spent at the airport, seeing Jake off to summer camp. Actually, we enjoyed the 4 hour delay, so the guys could enjoy some quality time (don't get me wrong, these kids were ready to GO!). Missing you already Jake...

Traveling Talismans

Traveling this summer? Don't forget a "traveling talisman" for good luck. The possibilities are endless...

Welcome Color, Welcome Arunashi...

We are so happy to be receiving the new collections from the Vegas buys, and the colors are especially amazing. Shown: Arunashi's new one of a kind rings and his loooong (40") bezel set gemstone chains in yummy lavender amethyst, blue topaz, moonstone and citrine. Stay tuned for more color on the way...

Half Birthday????

Tip of the day: When you are trying a new restaurant, check out how they would celebrate a birthday. In this case, the new restaurant is NOVE at Victory, and Alysa got great treatment in celebrating her "half-birthday".

Sounds and Sights of Summer....Finally!

What could these fellows possibly be doing (with the help of one college sister) at Tom Thumb late at night? I wonder.....

Baby oh Baby!!!!!

We are thrilled that some of our designers are working on more than beautiful jewelry. Jeanine Payer got the news today that she's having a boy...yea!!! And we hear that Robin Renzi (Me & Ro) is expecting a girl. Expect more baby jewelry to come...

Just can't wait! Congrats all around...

Home Sweet Sweet Home.....

There is no place like home, but no matter how hard we clicked our heels (a la Dorothy style), we could not get out of the Vegas airport. Delays, delays, and more delays...but we finally snagged a couple of standby seats, closed our eyes, and long after midnight, our flight touched down in Dallas. This time, the luggage made it ... way to go American! And Viva Las Vegas!!!

Poker of Champions....

Yes, we exhibited great restraint and did not enter the World Series of Poker held during our visit.

Vegas: No Easy In | No Easy Out for Us....

Well, another cancelled flight. Did we spend our time at these airport slots? No, our gambling was purely on the most amazing jewelry collections which will be streaming into our store over the next several months. If this blog had sound, you would be hearing every few minutes as we did for hours at the airport: Wheel. Of. FORtune!!!! Ding!

Farewell, Francesca Bertelli....

We are sorry to say goodbye to Francesca who is leaving Me & Ro for personal pursuits (which we are sure will land her on the Italian Riviera). To say we will miss you is a gross understatement. Hugs!!! J & C & Staff

Eye Candy at the Shows...

The bling and elegance were never ending. Shown: Mizuki's new iconic pendants and Robert Wan's South Sea pearls. Yum!!

A Midnight Stroll....

Day is night and night is day in Vegas. One of our fave stores was chocolate, and we loved these Texas hats made of mousse. And the flower balls in the trees (in the middle of the shopping in the middle of the night) were gorgeous.

Evening Entertainment for Couture....

What a treat to have a full Carmen
Marc Valvo Couture runway show around the pool, hosted by Town & Country Magazine. We enjoyed visiting with Jim Taylor, Publisher and the darling Heather Bracher Severs, Accessories Editor. And we were most surprised to find that the DJ was our own Lucy Wrubel from Dallas! You go girl!

Bling and Brides...

Lots of darling designers, their husbands, dogs, and even a few brides in the halls. It is dizzying.

And then.....

Bag found at 2:45 am. Whew!
