Not Quite Ready for TV, but Here Goes....

Steve Kemble stopped by to film our store for a special on Channel 11...and caught the Cathy Waterman Trunk Show activity. As for his python ensemble, a big WOW!!!

My Favorite Bracelets...

This marks the 5th anniversary of wearing my Livestong bracelet, and only the second time I've taken it off (yes, it looks great at black-tie functions with a gown, trust me). And the 5th anniversary (yea!) of getting the news (yes I am the 1 out of 7 that helped the other 6 of you out)! It is the also the end of National Breast Cancer month, and we are supporting The Bridge Network's Art for the Bridge event in December. And that other good looking bracelet which is now one of my favorites? Why that was made by Jake during African Day at school.

Oh Cathy, you are Genius....

Just when you think it just can't get any better, in rolls the Cathy Waterman trunk show and we are stunned to see all the new things. In this case, words can't describe, you'll just have to click and see for yourself. Enjoy the view!

Party Makers & Party Animals...More 2 x 2

It is not a party unless Todd Fiscus has created it, and it is not truly fun unless he and Rob are in the midst. Still checking on how much that Louise Bourgeois in the background went for. Yumm...

2x2 for Aids and Art Gala: First Look

The actual 2 X 2 Event is this evening, and millions will be raised for AmFar and the Dallas Museum of Art. Our paddles won't attend the auction, but we did stop by Thursday for "First Look" at the divine Rachofsky Art House, where bids were already being taken on spectacular pieces of modern art. Luckily for me, the dress code was black and white, so I wore this amazing Cathy Waterman bamboo necklace with windowpane earrings, and yes, heads turned. Those dots of red in the midst of the sea of black and white? Why it's Lord of the Manor Howard Rachofsky, and friend Patti who stood out in a fire engine shade.

Pleeeeez Daddy.....

Our young friend has fallen in love with these ALink Diamonds, and promises a great school conference, a clean room, peace with her siblings and tons of other stuff if her father will just consider these pieces for her. And yes, she promises to share with her mom. Deal? Or no deal?

You Can Join the Bidding...

Join us on the Palm Night Auction website which closes on Sunday evening, even if you don't live in Dallas. There is some fab merchandise which benefits a great charity, The Family Place in Dallas. You can also buy Ylang 23 Jewelry raffle tickets online which will be drawn on November 7 (yes, 23 chances to win jewelry, including pieces from Cathy Waterman, Gurhan and Temple St. Clair).

Pleeeeeeez Mom....

Hope springs eternal from Jake that his parents will spring for the signed Tony Romo jersey, generously donated by The Dallas Cowboys but it was not to be (it was sold last night).

Palm Night for the Family Place 2007

It was a fabulous night at The Palm Restaurant to benefit The Family Place, and co-chairs Robin and Steve Ladik (she is pictured in the feathers) and Joyce and Tim Goss stunned the crowd with the hottest live auction in Palm Night's 14 year history. It was the British invasion under the tent for pre-activities and The Palm rolled out steak, lobsters and an endless supply of wine for the bidders. Even Austin Powers made an appearance and the winners of the evening? Why, the women and children of The Family Place.

Our Art at Neimans....

A must see exhibit at the Downtown Neiman Marcus is the wooden mirror by Daniel Rozin and "shadow art" by Larry Kagan. Both mesmerizing, you stand in one place, and see yourself projected to another. My IPhone captured our images, Charles and me in silhouette (Rozin), and Charles (and an unidentified couple) in the Kagan art. A real wow!

A Standout at the Neimans Gala.....

There were so many incredible dresses and beautiful people at the Neimans Gala, and I'm sure you will see them all in Paper City & FD Luxe, but this couple was a standout. We really enjoyed meeting Julia (with friend Conrad), who looked incredible in Armani Prive. The gown was a work of art, which doesn't surprise us, considering it was designed by the master himself.

The Party of the Year: Neimans Turns 100!

It was the party of the year (the bling was everywhere, including my Cathy Waterman latice leaf necklace). We thought that Neimans Downtown was as decked out as the guests, who flew in from everywhere, designers included. We saw our A. Link friends, Doug and Jeffrey, (and snapped their pic for our website), and friends Marcia, Suzi and Helene, and yes, that's Manolo Blahnik with our darling friend Jennifer Miller of NM who we had not seen for so long. Kudos to Karen Katz, Burt Tansky and store manager Shelle Sills. Wishing you a wonderful season from your friends at Ylang 23!

Lunch with the Publisher....

A delightful respite from work was a lunch invitation from Jim Taylor, Publisher of Town & Country, and Leslie Wehrmann, regional sales. Best of all, Jim delivered to us early the divine November issue with Grace Kelly on the cover. Can Luxe get any better than this? Thanks guys.

A Whirlwind of a Week

It's time for Palm Night for The Family Place and this year's kickoff, L'il Palm was great. The party was at the Goss-Michael Foundation (as in Kenny Goss | George Michael) and we were all oohing and aahing over THE piano -- namely, THE piano which John Lennon wrote Imagine on, which was acquired by Kenny and George (and Charles was happy just to touch it). Shown: Co-Chair Joyce Goss, and friends Patti and Patty, who are in the spirit of the 60's and getting ready for Palm Night. Want to take part? Please visit www.palmnightauction.org and bid! bid! bid! Ylang 23 has donated 23 jewelry items which are part of a special raffle, so don't forget to buy raffle tickets when you're visiting the auction website.

Hook 'em Horns! David & Ron in the Groove...

Our Ten Thousand Things cupcake party had the overwhelming background sounds of Texas | OU weekend in Dallas, as the UT Longhorn Singers were outside our door. We honestly don't know if there was more yelling over the game (which Texas lost) or the amazing Ten Thousand Things jewelry which was being snatched up faster than popcorn in the bleachers. Anyway, Ron and David got into the spirit and just loved being in Texas (and couldn't believe how many songs were written about our state). Thanks for coming guys...

Ten Thousand Things Appearance

Rolling out a warm Texas welcome, we took David & Ron to Dallas' new supper club, called The Club Restaurant, and ran into our old and dear friends, Fran and the divine and amazing Executive chef Vicenzo Indelicato (formerly of Nicolas). It is Italian at its very best and we are still dreaming over the tray of desserts which included a lemon cheesecake from Vincenzo's family recipes (from Italy of course)!
