Goodbye Andy Hanson

I was saddened to learn that Andy Hanson had passed away. Ever present on the Dallas social scene, he photographed every notable over the years we have lived here and was just the nicest guy. We just saw him working an event at the Nasher, doing what he always did so well with his Leica camera. There will never be another Andy...so talented and unassuming. He had a rich life, photographing President Kennedy, Elvis, the Beatles, and any celebrity who passed through Dallas over his 40 year career. Most of all, I remember how nice Andy was, and how he always took time from his job to visit. A loss for all. (PS. I did not take the pictures. Even though Andy took tons of us, I never thought to take one of him.)
